Newsletter: Friday 22nd September
It’s been a busy week here in school and the children are all getting stuck in to their learning. We have enjoyed welcoming our Year R children in full time this week and our Year 5s have loved helping their new buddies out at lunchtimes. They also had the opportunity to spend some time with their individual buddies in the Year R classroom; our Year 5 children have been so excited about this special responsibility and we know that they will take care of the youngest members of our Bidborough family very well.
In other exciting news, we introduced our brand new Pupil Leadership Team in Celebration Assembly this morning! Congratulations to Rory, Harry, Maisy and Freya who will be taking on this special role until Christmas. Over the coming weeks we will also be finding out who our new worship and sports leaders are too.
It was a pleasure to see lots of you at our Meet the Teacher event on Wednesday evening, despite the downpour outside! If you were unable to attend, you should find the PowerPoint shared on your child’s class website page from this afternoon.
As you may be aware, we have experienced some delays in the completion of the MUGA. The children have been coping with the reduced outdoor space very well but we know that they are all looking forward to getting back down to the bottom playground (and of course the new MUGA) soon. Weather permitting, we are hoping that this will happen very soon; we will keep you posted.
Next week, we will be collecting items for our Harvest Festival to donate to the Southborough Community Larder. Please see the attachment to this newsletter for suggested items and we thank you in advance for anything that you are able to donate. Year 3 are also seeking donations of cardboard boxes for their Stonehenge projects next week! If you have any spare, please do send them in.
Finally, please see the links below for updated DFE advice regarding attendance, including useful information about illnesses which do/do not require children to stay at home:
