Newsletter 2 - 2019
Despite the weather’s best endeavours (and a sticky padlock) it has been a planned Quiet Week in school and we have enjoyed being able to benefit from the routines that the children have settled into. We already feel as though our new staff and children have been part of the family for a long time.
Some of our staff really have been with us for a long time and indeed, it is hard to think of the school without them. Sharon Harrison in the office has been here for 22 years and it is with sadness that I let you know she has decided that the time is right to hang up her keyboard and mouse and take on new adventures in her retirement. Sharon joined the school as a teaching assistant and as a parent – both her children went through the school here and Sharon really has been involved in all aspects of school life. First appointed by Cath Thewlis, she has also worked with Andrew Tulloch and Clare Owen before I took on the Headship here. I know that we all have appreciated her hard work and support in our roles. At our new parents welcome events, I always say that Sharon is the one who really runs the school – we will certainly find it difficult to replace her!
I am sure you will want to join with me in wishing her well and we will let you know how we intend to say thank you and farewell to Sharon.
Kind regards,
Julie Burton
Headteacher
p.s. Don’t forget, individual and family photos take place on Monday morning!
