Today was a wonderful celebration of all the hard work the children have been putting in this term, both in the classrooms and in other areas.
The Key Stage 1 nativity took place this week. It was, as always, so lovely to see the younger children up on stage with confidence and clear voices. After a week of performing to packed halls, 21 Year 2 children sang at the village CAMEO lunch. One of the ladies there called this afternoon to say just how much she had enjoyed seeing the children and the joy that they showed throughout. Thanks again to Mrs Bateup and Mrs Lindley for preparing the children so well.
The children rushed back to school in time to take part in the Rock Steady Concert. It was a very entertaining afternoon with children of all ages performing with electric guitars, drums and keyboards and singing with microphones. It is always so good to see children shining in different ways.
It was great to see so many of you this afternoon at our Open Classrooms. I am sure you will agree that the children have been working very hard, particularly in their topic work. The children seem to be proud of their work and pleased to have an audience.
We look forward to seeing you next week for our Key Stage 2 Christmas celebration. Please remember that this is a ticket only event, available from the office. Also next week is our second session of Children’s University. Please make sure that the gardening, tennis and natural sciences groups have warm clothes.
The children may wear Christmas jumpers or outfits on the last day of term – there will be a small prize for each class for the most festive outfit.
Have a good weekend.
