On Tuesday we classes 3 and 4 were lucky to have a visit from the local amateur archaeological society. Simon and Catherine brought lots of amazing Stone Age artefacts for us to see and touch. They showed us hammerstones and hand-axes, chisels and flint scrapers. We had a go at peeling vegetables with the flint tools and found they were really sharp and good at scraping. We also looked at some items that might have been used to make Stone Age jewellery such as shells and small stones and bones. Afterwards we had a go at being archaeologists and managed to uncover some pottery and flint arrow heads. It was a great afternoon. A big thank you to Mrs Cooper for helping to organise it.
